September Yoga Schedule

Summer is singing its last song and as we transition into fall it is time to let go of summer’s heat and habits. That means clearing out and cleaning up a little. What is it that you have been hanging on to that you no longer need? Maybe books that you will never read, clothes that you will never wear, and maybe furniture that is no longer of use. Cleaning goes beyond the physical. What habits are you clinging to that no longer serve you? If you didn’t engage in that behavior, would you be happier, or experience a little more freedom?

clarity quoteThe heat of summer has a tendency to bake on undigested foods, events, emotions, and even thoughts. This month and in to October is the best time to clear some of these things out. Ayurveda and Yoga recommend cleansing at the change of the seasons. A cleanse is more than a dietary change, it a cleanse of the mind, the space that we live in, and our bodies. It is a time to increase simplicity so that ease of being becomes prominent.

Tips for Clearing, Cleansing, & Cleaning:

  • Spend 5 minutes a day throwing things out OR placing things in a box to donate — start at one end of the house and work your way to the other
  • Change up your altar by dusting and bringing in some items that represent clarity
  • Eat foods that are in season
  • Replace sugar with greens
  • Add 10 minutes to your daily routine for yoga
  • Consider a 10 day Transformation Cleanse

Therapeutic Yoga
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 — 11:15am
Cleansing the Lymphatic system through yoga. Classes this month emphasize movements and breath that increase movement in the lymphatic system. We continue to focus on balancing the nervous system for deeper healing and restoration.

LifeForce Yoga for Self-Empowerment
Wednesdays, 11:15am — 12:45pm
Releasing Constrictions
Classes this month emphasize cleansing of the lymph which holds old and toxic emotions. We’ll use yogic breathing practices to clear the space and the mind, while using physical postures to work out old emotions hiding in the body. Sound plays a roll to vibrate old issues out of the tissues and into the light.
