Uncovering the Heart’s True Nature

“Love is the only true perception, everything else is false.” – Unknown

It is the heart’s true nature to love for no reason at all. Through our daily lives, we begin to put walls up around the heart as a means of protection. What was once a protective measure becomes a constriction, like anxiety and depression, locking us into patterns of behavior that keep us from giving and receiving love 20160528_083058to our fullest capacity.

The rose does not withhold it’s scent. The rose offers it’s sweetness to all visitors in the garden. The rose even offers it’s scent when no one is around to take the smell in.

Meditative yoga awakens the innate knowing that each of us is whole, loved, and connected. In the spaces between the breaths, between thoughts, between moments, the wordless experience of loving for no reason exists. At first, we may only glimpse this truth. As we continue to practice, this truth reveals itself to us more and more, until one day, after much practice, it is all that exists. This is the knowledge and experience for which we practice. In the morning we awaken this truth, then distraction happens and we forget.
